Christmas Cookies

There is something magical about Christmas cookies. They are fun to make by yourself, with others. They are fun to eat and to share. In our house, cookie making, eating and sharing are a time honored tradition. This year, you can see peanut butter balls, almond biscotti, ginger snaps, snickerdoodles, pecan tarts, linzer tarts, decorated sugar cookies, coconut walnut delights, venetian cookies and rugelach. The recipes come from family (my dear Mom (coconut walnut delights), my ex-mother-in-law (peanut butter balls and almond biscotti) - both of these lovely women were some of the best cooks I have ever known), friends (my college friend, Donna (pecan tarts) , Phyllis Lavallee who is my son David's best friend from high school mom (venetian cookies), my hometown friend, Laura (snickerdoodles), my friend from the past, Dolores (linzer tarts), and magazines (rugelach) and food network (ginger snaps). Please see recipe sections. The time to bake these is so worth it.

Every year I bring a small tray to my friend, Sue. I only see her once or twice a year but she really appreciates I remember her. Make an effort to keep in touch with people. It is so worth it!!

Happy Holidays!!
