Strawberry Santas

Strawberry Santas are adorable, tasty, eye-catching and such a different addition to the holiday table. I made them first for my book club December meeting. So 20+ women started on the email thread of what they would bring to our December book club meeting. This is actually a library group run by the lovely librarian. While the group will talk about recent town, national and international events, we do talk about the book for at least a half hour and usually for 45 minutes. This December was the beloved "Le Petit Prince" which I have read numerous times in both English and French. A short, life-embodying tale to teach lessons of life. So back to the email thread which had numerous non-alcoholic drinks as well as savory and sweet snacks. I was stumped until I came upon Strawberry Santas on FoodNetwork.com by Giada deLaurentis. These are so easy to make - five ingredients - strawberries, mascarpone. powdered sugar, vanilla extract and mini chocolate chips. They were the absolute hit of the night. Several of the ladies asked to take a couple home to give to their grand-kids. I made them again for my annual friend brunch - again a big hit - especially among the WW crowd. I took the picture with my little computer Christmas tree!!

Happy Holidays!!!
